Our Story
Back in late 2006, I had the idea to run my own business. I had been baking since Junior Secondary School and got lots of positive comments, but didn't think of it as anything commercial. To be profitable and grow, I had to learn the basics of starting/launching a business. That's where Fate Foundation comes in. I applied for their Aspiring Entrepreneurs Program and got accepted early 2007 after screening. To say it was an eye opening experience would be an understatement. Had various classes from qualified Facilitators(most running their own companies) on topics like Marketing, HR, Business Plan, Accounting etc. As an elected Executive in my class, had the opportunity to get closer to the facilitators and ask in-depth one on one questions. I will forever be grateful to my assigned mentor Mrs Toyin Olaleye of Teeto Culinary ltd, whose wealth of knowledge and coaching over the years has been a solid foundation for WOW! Cakes Enterprises.
Returning back to Benin city after the completion of my program, armed with my business plan and company registration/trademark documents, I opened shop on August 1st, 2007. It has been an amazing adventure, would not trade it for anything. Shout-out to the Doctors, Nurses & students at University of Benin Teaching Hospital, who were basically my first community of clients. Their feedback, patronage and encouragement has been priceless! We have introduced new products, and gotten better at the Cake decorating game as the years progressed. Still learning new techniques everyday! Setting up a website is a new phase in my journey, and I look up to God to fulfill all his promises for WOW! Cakes Enterprises.
